Meditation & Mindfulness
Meditation and mindfulness practice have long been a part of my personal and professional life. I have found daily practice of meditation and mindfulness principles to have had a profound effect on my personal and professional life. Mindfulness helps me to be present and attuned to what is happening in my life and to the experiences and needs of others.
Working within the principles of mindfulness and acceptance based therapies, I run a weekly therapy group on Emotional Resilience and a Mindfulness Based group held over two Saturdays a month. Other groups that I have facilitated and incorporated mindfulness ideas and practices include an in-patient depression program and out-patient programs in Depression and Anxiety, Substance Related difficulties, and Trauma.
I have also facilitated 10 Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy groups; an evidence based program effective in helping sufferers of anxiety and depression better deal with their difficulties and significantly reduce the risk of relapse.
